How not to get robbed in Turin: tips

As in the rest of the country, Turin is a city where people get robbed easily, in several different places. This article wants to be a small practical guide to tourists who do not want to spend their time in the police station but to enjoy their trip or vacation.

First of all, always keep an eye on your bag or purse: robbers can be so great not to let you figure out they are stealing something. In particular, whenever you walk into a very crowded street or you catch a tram or bus where there are so many people, never take your eyes off your bag.

It is very well known tram number 4 is the worst one, since immigrants and not EU citizens are so good in opening bags and taking wallets and or cell phones.

Try to find the best spot where to stay, far from the doors and from faces you don’t like that much, and when you get off, carry your bag strongly and put your hands in the pockets, in case you have something in there too.

Pockets, purses, bags and backpacks are the favorite targets, even if sometimes it can happen these robbers take your phone directly from your hands, while you are talking. Sad but true, I should say. And it all happens in a short frame, so you don’t even have the time to realize it.

Be smart enough to close all the zippers and not to leave any valuable objects in the pockets, for your own safety.

If all these suggestions are not enough and you get robbed, the first thing you have to do is calling your bank company to block your credit card. Do not wait that long, since these people could use it in some shops or at the ATM.
