Torino Jazz Festival: a great concert under the rain

The city of Turin hosted the Jazz Festival, a 5-day perfomance where the most important artists of the Italian jazz performed on the stage located in Piazza Castello.

The place, which is considered by most of the people the heart of the city, was crowed because of it, and both tourists and Erasmus students didn’t know it could be such a great event. But it was, of course, and Turin once again surprised the people.

Also due to the fact that one of day in which the event happened was on May 1st, all the city center was full of people who wanted to have fun, starting to enjoy the spring weather they were able to have in the week before the Festival.

Unfortunately, it rained for all the 5 days. Can you believe it? Sweaters, coats and umbrellas didn’t stop the people to go out. All the main square, in fact, hosted so many adults, young students, curious tourists and habitants, who wanted to be there to listen to some of the great music.

No matter how much it was raining: everyone was singing and dancing, having a blast carrying their umbrellas. Pictures on both the social networks and the local press don’t need any extra comments.

The funniest things, actually, is that Turin is not a city related to the jazz: when you think about the first Italian capital, you think about Superga, the Holy Shrowd, the Egyptian Museum, the FIAT company and the automobile. So, congratulations to the city for the way it offered a new incredible show, no matter what the weather was like.

Among some of the artists who performed, the most important musicians were: Big Band, The Mingus Dynasty, Enrico Rava Quintet, Roy Pace Corleone, Vocal Night, Abdullah Ibrahim, Mulatu Astake Steps Ahead, Sidony Box, Gianluca Petrella Cosmic Band, Miles Smiles, Dorado Schmitt Familia Sexset, McCoy Tyner and Latin All Stars.
